Garmin MARQ Gen 3: $2,500+ With LTE & inReach vs Enduro 4
Key Takeaway

The MARQ Gen 3 is a titanium, sapphire luxury watch that can call and message over LTE or satellite without your phone. Garmin says it starts at $2,500. If you want a rugged Garmin for training and the outdoors without paying luxury money, the Enduro 4 ($899.99 on Amazon) does most of the sports job. Buy the MARQ only if the finish and the tool-watch looks matter to you.

Garmin announced the third-generation MARQ collection on October 13, 2026. It is a set of six premium "tool watches": Adventurer, Athlete, Aviator, Commander, Diver and Golfer. Garmin says they are available now, with suggested retail prices starting at $2,500.

The big changes are a larger screen, built-in LTE and inReach connectivity, and a speaker and microphone. Here is what we know, and where reports do not agree.

Key dates

Date What happened
Oct 12, 2026 A MARQ Gen 3 listing was spotted on Garmin's own support pages
Oct 13, 2026 Garmin announced the collection and said it is available now
Nov 5, 2026 Reported wider global availability date (not in Garmin's release)

What is new in Gen 3

Garmin's press release lists these features for all six models:

  • 1.4-inch borderless AMOLED display. Garmin calls it the largest yet on a MARQ. Gadgets & Wearables says the previous size was 1.2 inches.
  • Embedded inReach with LTE. The watch can make calls, send text and voice messages, and share your location through Garmin Locate in the Garmin Messenger app. Satellite or LTE can be used for messages and weather.
  • SOS goes to Garmin Response, a 24/7 coordination center.
  • Speaker, microphone and voice commands, plus an LED flashlight.
  • Grade-5 titanium case and sapphire lens, with ceramic bezels.
  • Worldwide preloaded TopoActive maps with address search.
  • ECG app (in select regions), plus sleep, stress, HRV and Pulse Ox.
  • Battery: up to 18 days in smartwatch mode.

Two things to know. First, inReach needs an active plan, and the sources we read do not give plan pricing. Second, Garmin's own footnote says satellite and SOS features have limits compared with its other inReach devices. LTE coverage is also not available in every region.

The six models and prices

Model Made for Price (Gadgets & Wearables) Price (Garmin News)
Athlete Running, training, recovery $2,500 $2,199.99
Adventurer Hiking, maps, ClimbPro $2,700 $2,199.99
Golfer 43,000+ preloaded courses $2,800 $2,299.99
Aviator Flight mapping, aviation weather $3,100 $2,399.99
Commander Night vision, stealth mode, ballistics $3,100 $2,399.99
Diver Dive depth to 40 m, boating $3,100 $2,299.99

The sources disagree on price. Garmin's own release only says "starting at $2,500". Gadgets & Wearables lists $2,500 to $3,100, which matches that starting price. Garmin News, an independent fan site, lists lower numbers that do not fit Garmin's $2,500 starting price. We trust the first set, but check Garmin.com before you buy.

Other details from Gadgets & Wearables only: a 47 mm case, 128GB storage (up from 32GB), and about 7 days of battery with the always-on display. Garmin News lists "40+ hours" in GPS mode and a 10 ATM water rating. Garmin's release does not confirm these, so treat them as reported, not official.

Where each model wins

  • Athlete is the entry point. You get stamina metrics, running economy and a VO2 max indicator on a silicone strap.
  • Adventurer adds preloaded ClimbPro, layered mapping and a compass bezel, on a leather strap.
  • Golfer adds Virtual Caddie and green contour data. The contour data needs a Garmin Golf membership.
  • Aviator adds a UTC hand and aviation weather.
  • Commander adds night vision features, stealth mode and an Applied Ballistics solver.
  • Diver adds autopilot control and tack assist for boating, and depth to 40 m.

Gadgets & Wearables says the hardware is "pretty much identical" across the six. You are mostly paying for the strap, bezel and software mix.

Which should you buy?

  • Buy a MARQ Gen 3 if you want a luxury titanium watch that can call and message away from your phone, and you will pay for an inReach plan.
  • Buy the Garmin Enduro 4 ($899.99) if you care about battery and training more than looks. See our Enduro 4 vs Enduro 3 comparison.
  • Buy the Athlete if you want the cheapest way in and mostly train and run.
  • Wait if you are unsure. The reported global date is November 5, and reviews of the LTE and satellite features are still to come.
