iPhone 18 Pro Max Accessories: 10 Must-Haves (and What to Skip)

iPhone 18 Pro Max Accessories: 10 Must-Haves (and What to Skip)
Key Takeaway

Buy four things first: a 65W charger that lists AVS, a magnetic case, screen glass for your exact size, and a MagSafe charger. Add a wallet, car mount, strap or tripod only if you will use it. Skip 15W Qi2 pads, cheap lens covers and any case or charger whose listing does not name the iPhone 18 series. Apple's box holds only the phone and a USB-C cable.

Where to buy

We may earn a commission if you buy through these links, at no extra cost to you.

Apple's new Pro phones come in two sizes: the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro and the 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max. They went on sale September 18, 2026, from $1,199 and $1,299. This guide covers both. When a pick fits only one size, we say so and point you to the matching guide.

The box is thin: the phone, a USB-C cable and no power adapter. A charger, a case and screen glass come first. Everything else is optional, and a few popular add-ons are worth skipping. Every pick below is on Amazon, including Apple's own cases and MagSafe charger.

How we picked: we read each Amazon listing's title and bullets for iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max support, and checked Apple's spec pages for charging limits. We did not test these products. Listings were checked on October 19, 2026.

What's in the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max box?

Apple's tech specs list two items: the iPhone with iOS 27, and a USB-C charge cable (1 m). There is no power adapter. HyperJuice's charging guide says the same. Apple's page does not give the wattage of the box cable, so do not assume it handles the fastest wired speed. Both models are eSIM-only, so there is no SIM tray either.

Here is what the charging numbers mean in plain words:

  • Wired: Apple says up to 50% in about 15 minutes with a 60W-capable adapter or higher that supports USB PD 3.1 with Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS), plus a 60W-capable USB-C cable.
  • MagSafe and Qi2: up to 25W. Apple says 50% in 30 minutes with a MagSafe Charger and a 35W or higher adapter. iThinkDifferent says a 30W adapter is enough to pull 25W. The sources differ, so buy 35W or more to be safe.
  • Older Qi2 pads: they still charge, but they stop at 15W. Anker calls 15W the limit on earlier iPhones.

1. Case: Apple Silicone Case with MagSafe

Apple's Silicone Case with MagSafe is the safe first pick for either size. Apple sells it for $49. The Amazon listing we checked is the Pro Max in burgundy. It says the case works with Camera Control and attaches to Apple's Wrist Strap and Crossbody Strap.

Check Apple Silicone Case price on Amazon

The alternatives are Apple's TechWoven Case with MagSafe ($59), made from recycled polyester with a grippy TPU edge, and the clear ESR Classic Hybrid. The ESR listing names the iPhone 18 Pro Max, mentions built-in magnets, and says its 12 ft drop rating is SGS-tested. If you bought burgundy, see our best burgundy iPhone 18 Pro Max cases. More options are in the best iPhone 18 Pro cases and best iPhone 18 Pro Max cases.

Skip it if drop protection matters more than feel. A rugged case is better for job sites and kids.

2. Screen protector: Ailun 3-pack

Ailun's 3-pack is a low-cost glass set with an install frame. Its listing says it is for the 6.9-inch iPhone 18 Pro Max and 17 Pro Max, and not for the 6.3-inch iPhone 18 Pro. Check the size before you pay.

Check Ailun 3-pack price on Amazon

The alternative is amFilm OneTouch, whose listing says it comes with an auto-alignment kit for the Pro Max. Owners of the smaller phone should use our iPhone 18 Pro screen protector guide. Pro Max owners can compare more options in the Pro Max screen protector guide.

Skip it if you dislike an extra layer on the screen. A case with raised edges still helps when the phone lands face down.

3. Camera lens protector: ESR

Unlike cases and screen glass, a lens protector can fit both sizes. ESR's listing names the iPhone 18 Pro Max and 18 Pro, says each lens gets its own piece so the flash stays uncovered, and includes an alignment guide and cleaning kit.

Alternatives: YWXTW lists both models and uses a metal frame. Ailun's 3-pack is for the Pro Max only. Compare more in our iPhone 18 Pro Max camera lens protector guide.

Skip it if you shoot a lot at night or with lights in the frame. Extra glass over a lens is one more surface for reflections, and cheap covers are the most likely to add flare. We have not tested these. Pick one that mentions an anti-reflective coating, or leave the lenses bare.

4. Fast wired charger: UGREEN Nexode Air 65W

With no adapter in the box, this is your first purchase. The UGREEN Nexode Air 65W is our pick because its listing names AVS and the iPhone 18 Pro series, which matches what Apple asks for. It also comes with a 3.3 ft cable, and the listing repeats Apple's 50% in about 15 minutes figure.

A watt number alone is not enough, so look for "AVS" or "PD 3.1" in any listing. This charger also comes in several colors, including burgundy. More chargers are in the best iPhone 18 Pro chargers.

Skip it if you already own a 60W or higher charger with PD 3.1 and AVS. A 140W desk brick is overkill for the phone alone.

5. MagSafe charger: Apple MagSafe Charger (1 m)

For the desk or nightstand, the Apple MagSafe Charger (1 m) is the simple choice for iPhone 18 Pro MagSafe accessories. Its listing says up to 25W, works with Qi2 and Qi, and does not include a power adapter. Apple's own listing quotes iPhone 16 tests with a 30W adapter, so use Apple's 35W or higher figure for the 18 Pro.

For one stand that charges phone, watch and earbuds, the ESR, LISEN and Belkin 3-in-1 stations all list Qi2.2 25W. Our 3-in-1 charging station guide compares them.

Skip it if the pad says 15W. iThinkDifferent warns that many MagSafe accessories still cap at 15W.

6. Power bank: wired now, magnetic later

Magnetic power banks are the most hyped iPhone 18 Pro accessory, and the hardest to buy well. The phone supports 25W magnetic charging, and Anker's own page lists its MagGo 2 Pro (10,000mAh, Qi2 25W) for the iPhone 18 Pro. But when we checked Amazon on October 19, the 25W Qi2.2 banks we found were bundles or new listings with no ratings yet. We do not pick one until real reviews arrive.

A Qi2 15W magnetic bank still snaps on and charges the phone, only at 15W. For a wired stopgap, the Anker Nano 45W (10,000mAh) lists a built-in retractable cable and 45W max output. That is fast, but below the 60W the phone can take. More choices are in our best power banks guide.

Skip magnetic banks if your case has no magnets. ESR's case listing, for example, says its built-in magnets give a stronger connection with power banks and chargers.

7. MagSafe wallet: ESR HaloLock

A magnetic wallet snaps onto the back and holds a few cards. ESR's listing names the iPhone 18 Pro Max and 18 Pro, holds up to 5 cards, and has RFID blocking. It claims 3,200 g of holding force when used with a magnetic case.

Check ESR HaloLock wallet price on Amazon

Apple's FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe ($59, new for the 18 series) is the premium alternative. If you want a wallet case instead, see our iPhone 18 Pro Max wallet case guide.

Skip it if you carry more than a few cards. Slide it off before wireless charging, since it sits between the phone and the charger.

8. Car mount: LISEN magnetic suction mount

The Pro Max weighs 249 g (8.78 oz) and the 18 Pro weighs 211 g, so pick a mount with strong magnets. LISEN's dash and windshield mount lists 3,800 gf of magnetic force and names the iPhone 18 Pro Max and 18 Pro.

Check LISEN car mount price on Amazon

Alternatives: LISEN also makes a vent mount that works with iPhone 12 through 18 Pro Max, and Miracase makes a 3,800 gf suction mount. If you want charging in the car, ESR's OmniLock vent mount lists Qi2.2 25W. See the best MagSafe car mounts for the full comparison.

Skip it if your case has no magnets. Suction bases also need a flat, smooth surface, so a vent mount may suit a textured dash better.

9. Strap: TORRAS crossbody lanyard

Apple sells a Wrist Strap ($29) and a Crossbody Strap ($59). They attach to Apple's cases, and the Silicone Case listing says it works with both. For other cases, TORRAS makes an adjustable crossbody lanyard (14 to 29.1 inches) that names the iPhone 18 Pro Max and works with full-coverage cases only.

The alternative is a wrist lanyard such as saxsion's, which uses a 0.4mm clip that sits under the case.

Skip it if the phone lives in your pocket. A strap makes sense for travel, hikes and crowds.

10. Camera accessories: UGREEN MagSafe tripod

Apple says time-lapse mode records in 4K Dolby Vision, and both phones have an 8x (200 mm) optical-quality telephoto. Both are easier on a steady base. The UGREEN MagSafe tripod folds out as a desk stand, tripod or selfie stick. Its listing mentions a 1/4-inch mount and a weight of 118 g, and says it works with MagSafe cases.

Check UGREEN MagSafe tripod price on Amazon

The alternative is the ULANZI MA38, which lists an Arca-type quick-release base and 1/4-inch holes for lights and mics. That suits creators who already own tripod gear.

Skip it if you rarely shoot video or long zoom. Note that a tripod still needs magnets, so a non-magnetic case needs the included metal ring.

What to skip

  • 15W Qi2 pads, if you want speed. They work, but they cap at 15W. Look for Qi2.2 25W and a 35W or higher adapter.
  • Chargers that list only a watt number. Apple asks for USB PD 3.1 with AVS.
  • Cheap lens covers that cause flare. If you shoot at night, a bare lens is the safest choice.
  • Bulky wallet folios if you use MagSafe a lot. One popular wallet case, the Smartish Wallet Slayer, says in its listing that it is not compatible with MagSafe or wireless chargers.
  • 17-series cases, unless the listing names the 18. Sources disagree on fit, as the FAQ explains.

FAQ

Does the iPhone 18 Pro come with a charger?
No. Apple's tech specs list only the iPhone with iOS 27 and a USB-C charge cable (1 m). The power adapter is sold separately.

What wattage charger does the iPhone 18 Pro Max need?
For Apple's fastest wired speed, up to 50% in about 15 minutes, you need a 60W-capable adapter or higher with USB PD 3.1 and AVS, plus a 60W-capable cable. Other USB-C chargers still work, just slower.

Is the iPhone 18 Pro MagSafe and Qi2.2?
It supports MagSafe and Qi2 charging up to 25W, per Apple's specs. Anker and Beebom call the 25W profile Qi2.2. You need a Qi2.2 charger and a 30W to 35W adapter to reach it, since sources differ on the exact figure.

Do iPhone 17 Pro Max cases fit the iPhone 18 Pro Max?
Sources disagree, and Apple has not said. Both reports below came out before launch. MacTrast says OtterBox packaging claims its 18 Pro case also fits the 17 Pro, while the Best Buy listing it cites names only the 17 Pro. Gorilla Cases, which sells cases, says a 17 Pro Max case fits the 18 Pro Max only partly because of a larger camera plateau and shifted buttons. Some makers, including ESR and Spigen, sell one case labeled for both generations. Buy a case whose listing names the 18 Pro or Pro Max.

Can I use Pro Max accessories on the iPhone 18 Pro?
Magnetic accessories such as chargers, wallets, car mounts and tripods work on both. Cases and screen glass are size-specific (6.3-inch versus 6.9-inch), so buy for your exact model. The ESR lens protector above lists both.
