Razer has a new flagship ergonomic mouse.
On October 8, 2026, Razer announced the Basilisk V4 Pro and a cheaper Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. It also launched the Mouse Dock V2 Pro, a magnetic wireless charging dock. All three went on sale the same day at Razer and other stores, including Amazon.
The Basilisk is Razer's mouse for people who want a right-handed shape with a thumb rest and lots of buttons. The V4 Pro adds more buttons, a new scroll wheel, a faster sensor and a lighter body than the V3 Pro. Here is what you get for the money.

A note on battery life: Razer's figures are maximum claims at 1,000 Hz polling. If you run the V4 Pro at the full 8,000 Hz, expect much less.
A note on pairing: Techaeris and Ubergizmo describe the V4 Pro as having "5-way multi-device connectivity." Wolf's Gaming Blog says Bluetooth can remember three devices. Both can be true (three Bluetooth slots plus wireless and wired), but Razer's spec sheet is the place to check if this matters to you.
What's new in the V4 Pro
More buttons. The V4 Pro has 14 programmable controls. Razer added a third side button and a new "M1 edge" button along the side of the left click. The multi-function trigger (the small button under your thumb) has moved to what Razer calls a more natural reach. That is useful for push-to-talk, weapon swaps or shortcuts in apps like Photoshop.

A better scroll wheel. The new HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 adds a Precision Tactile mode with 48 steps, double the normal 24. Free-Spin mode lets the wheel spin freely for long pages. Smart-Reel switches between modes on its own based on how fast you flick the wheel.
Lighter body. The V4 Pro weighs 100 g. Wolf's Gaming Blog and Ubergizmo say that is 12 g lighter than the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K. It is still not a light mouse by esports standards, but it is easier to move around.
8,000 Hz without a dock. The V3 Pro needed the Mouse Dock Pro or a separate dongle to reach 8,000 Hz. The V4 Pro does it in the box, both wired and wireless.
New sensor and switches. The Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 sensor and Gen-4 optical switches (rated for 100 million clicks) replace the 35K sensor and Gen-3 switches in the V3 Pro 35K.
Where each one wins
- V4 Pro wins on buttons (14 vs 12), the scroll wheel, sensor specs, battery life and built-in 8,000 Hz polling.
- V4 HyperSpeed wins on price ($60 less) and weight (94 g vs 100 g). It keeps the same shape, the thumb rest, the same Gen-4 switches and Chroma lighting.
- The dock is a nice extra, not a need. It charges the mouse magnetically and has an 8,000 Hz receiver built in. For the HyperSpeed, that receiver is the only way to unlock 8,000 Hz.
Which should you buy?
- You play fast shooters and want every edge: get the Basilisk V4 Pro. Built-in 8,000 Hz polling and the 50K sensor are aimed at you, though how much 8,000 Hz helps in real games is still up for testing.
- You want lots of buttons for MMOs, editing or work: the V4 Pro has two more buttons and the finer 48-step scroll mode.
- You want the Basilisk shape at a fair price: get the Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed. For most people, 1,000 Hz is plenty, and you save $60.
- You already own a Basilisk V3 Pro: keep it unless the extra buttons or the new wheel matter to you. The core shape is the same.
- You want the cheapest way into this shape: the older Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is still sold and may drop in price now that the V4 is out.
- Wait: these mice launched on October 8 and full reviews are only starting to appear. If you are not in a rush, wait a week or two for battery and sensor tests.
