Xreal has a new top model, and the big change is brightness.
Xreal launched the 1 Pro+ AR glasses on October 15, 2026. They cost $599 in the US and are on sale now from Xreal's own store. Engadget lists the price as $600, while Xreal's store and most other outlets say $599. Engadget notes this is the same price the One Pro launched at last year.
The 1 Pro+ is a refresh, not a new design. Peak brightness jumps from 700 nits to 1,200 nits. The 2D-to-3D mode now runs at 60fps instead of 30fps. The rest, including the X1 chip and the 57-degree field of view, stays the same.
These are display glasses. You plug them into a phone, laptop, handheld PC or console over USB-C, and you see a large virtual screen in front of you. They have no battery and no camera of their own.

What is new in the 1 Pro+
Much brighter screen. This is the main upgrade. Xreal says 1,200 nits peak brightness, up from 700 nits on the One Pro. TechMyMoney works that out to about 71% brighter. Xreal says this helps near a window, in an office or on a plane, where the image on older glasses can look washed out.
AI HDR and three color modes. The glasses add AI HDR on supported content. You also get Standard, Movie and Reading modes to tune the picture.
Faster 3D conversion. Xreal's REAL 3D feature turns normal photos, videos and games into 3D on the glasses. It now runs at 60fps, up from 30fps. TechMyMoney reports that the One, One Pro and 1S will get the same 60fps mode in a November 2026 firmware update. So this is not a reason to upgrade on its own.
New nose pad. Xreal says the redesigned nose pad has a wider contact area for better stability and comfort. Engadget calls it the most notable change for long sessions, and Xreal says it does not reduce the field of view.
Same core hardware. The X1 chip, 57-degree field of view and native 3DoF tracking carry over. Xreal's page also lists Sound by Bose, electrochromic dimming and two IPD sizes. Talk Android says One Pro owners will find the upgrade hard to justify, and we agree.
Optional extras. The Xreal Eye camera adds 6DoF anchoring and gesture control. TechMyMoney puts it at $99, and Talk Android says a 1 Pro+ and Xreal Eye bundle costs $648.
Where each one wins
- 1 Pro+ wins on brightness. If you use glasses in daylight or bright rooms, 1,200 nits is a real step up.
- One Pro wins if you find it on sale. It has the same chip, field of view and IPD sizes, and it gets the faster 3D mode in November. It is the one to buy if Amazon cuts its price.
- 1S wins on price. It costs $150 less, but you give up some field of view (52 vs 57 degrees).
Which should you buy?
- Buy the Xreal 1 Pro+ if you are buying your first pair of high-end display glasses and you use them in bright places. It is the brightest Xreal glasses so far for the same launch price as the One Pro.
- Keep your One Pro if you already own one. You keep the same chip and field of view, and the 60fps 3D mode is coming to you in November.
- Buy the One Pro only if it drops well below the 1 Pro+. At the same price, the newer model is the better buy.
- Buy the Xreal 1S if you want Xreal's X1 chip and 120Hz screen for less money, and the smaller 52-degree view is fine for you.
- Wait if you want to buy on Amazon, or if you need size L. The 1 Pro+ is not on Amazon yet, and size L ships within two weeks. Full reviews should also be out soon.
