Why this kit

A better desk does not need a new desk. Most of the strain and mess comes from the same five things: a screen that sits too low, a bare surface that scratches, a headset with nowhere to go, too few outlets and a phone, watch and earbuds that all need charging. This kit puts one upgrade on each of them, so the desk gets better in five small steps instead of one big purchase.

Here is the kit, one upgrade at a time. The Nulaxy aluminum laptop stand lifts a laptop screen about 7 inches, so you look straight at it. The BONTEC wooden monitor riser does the same for a monitor and adds a shelf underneath. The Gallaway leather desk mat gives the keyboard and mouse one clean surface and protects the desk. The COZOO headphone stand with charger hangs the headset and adds two outlets and three USB ports. The Belkin 3-in-1 charging station charges a phone, watch and earbuds on one base.

You will not need every item. Use the laptop stand if you work on a laptop and the riser if you use a monitor, or both if you have a laptop beside a monitor. If you already own a desk mat or a headphone stand, drop that item. Skip the Belkin if you use an Android phone and no Apple Watch, because it is built around iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods and costs about four times the other items. The cheapest way to start is the stand or riser, the mat and the COZOO. This kit is not for a very small desk, where the 36-inch mat and the wide riser will not fit.

  1. 1Nulaxy Full Aluminum Laptop Stand
Lifts a laptop to eye level

    Nulaxy Full Aluminum Laptop Stand

Laptop stand · typically $17–$30 on Amazon

Start the kit with the screen, because a laptop that sits too low makes your neck pay. This stand lifts the screen about 7 inches to eye level. The listing says the 5mm CNC aluminum body holds up to 22 lbs, enough for a big gaming laptop, and large rubber pads stop it sliding. It comes apart into three pieces for a laptop bag. The listing itself says to pair it with a separate keyboard and mouse, because typing on a raised laptop can feel a little wobbly.

    • Brings the screen to eye level for less neck strain
    • Solid aluminum that supports big laptops up to 22 lbs
    • Folds into three parts for travel

  2. 2BONTEC Wooden Monitor Stand Riser
Raises a monitor and adds a shelf

    BONTEC Wooden Monitor Stand Riser

2-tier monitor riser · typically $20–$30 on Amazon

If you use a monitor, this riser does the same screen-height job and adds storage. It raises the screen 5.6 inches toward eye level and has a two-tier shelf, so the keyboard, mouse and a notebook slide underneath when you are done. The listing says it supports 66 lbs, enough for a large monitor, a laptop or a small printer. A phone slot and cable slots keep chargers off the desk. It is white MDF, so it will not suit a dark desk.

    • Raises the monitor 5.6 inches and adds a storage shelf
    • Holds up to 66 lbs, so large screens are fine
    • Slots for a phone and cables

  3. 3Gallaway Leather Desk Mat
Protects the desk and cushions wrists

    Gallaway Leather Desk Mat

    Desk mat, 36 x 17 in · typically $20–$40 on Amazon

This is the quickest way to make a desk look finished. The 36 x 17 inch mat is long enough for a full keyboard and a mouse, so you get one clean surface instead of small pads. The top is PU leather (synthetic, not real hide, per the listing) over a non-slip felt base, and the soft surface cushions your wrists. It also protects a wooden or glass desk from scratches and coffee rings. It ships in a gift-ready box with a one year warranty.

    • Large enough for keyboard, mouse and a notebook
    • Protects the desk surface and cushions the wrists
    • Arrives in a gift-ready box

  4. 4COZOO Headphone Stand with Charger
Parks the headset and adds outlets

    COZOO Headphone Stand with Charger

Headphone stand with power strip · typically $20–$30 on Amazon

Headphones left on a desk get tangled and dusty, and a desk never has enough outlets. This stand hangs the headset up and doubles as a small power strip: two AC outlets rated for 1250W and three USB ports (one USB-C at 20W and two USB-A) at the desk edge. Plug in a lamp, a speaker, a controller charger and a phone without crawling under the desk. The listing says it has overload and short-circuit protection. It is not for heaters or other high-power gear.

    • Gets the headset off the desk and onto a stand
    • Adds 2 AC outlets and 3 USB ports at the desk edge
    • Two jobs in one device for a low price

  5. 5Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station
Charges phone, watch and earbuds together

    Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station

    Qi2 15W charging stand · typically $70–$100 on Amazon

This is the splurge in the kit, and it fits a man who carries the full Apple set. The magnetic Qi2 pad charges a compatible iPhone at up to 15W, a puck charges an Apple Watch and a third spot handles AirPods, all at once. The phone snaps on by magnet and tilts up to 65 degrees, handy for video calls. It folds flat for a bag or trip. It costs about four times the other items and is built around Apple gear.

Quick tips before you buy

Set the screen height first

Raise the screen until the top edge is near eye height. The stand lifts a laptop about 7 inches and the riser lifts a monitor 5.6 inches, so use the one that matches your screen.

Add a full-size keyboard and mouse

On a raised laptop the built-in keyboard sits too high, and typing on it can feel wobbly. The Nulaxy listing itself says to use a separate keyboard and mouse. The Gallaway mat is long enough for both.

Measure the desk first

The mat is 36 x 17 inches and the BONTEC riser is wider than a basic stand. Check your desk width and depth before you order.

Keep the power load light

The COZOO strip is rated for 1250W across two outlets. Use it for a lamp, speaker and chargers, never for a heater or other high-power gear. Its cord is short, so keep a wall outlet close.

Quick answers

What are the best desk gadgets for men?+

Start with a laptop stand or monitor riser to bring the screen to eye level. Then add a leather desk mat for the surface, a headphone stand with outlets for the headset and power, and a 3-in-1 charger if you use an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. Together they fix posture, clutter and dead batteries.

What desk accessories should every man have?+

Start with something that raises the screen to eye level (a laptop stand or monitor riser), a desk mat to protect the surface and ease the wrists, and a charging spot for the phone. Add a headphone stand if you use a headset every day.

Do I need a laptop stand or a monitor riser?+

Use a laptop stand if you work on a laptop and a monitor riser if you use a monitor. With a laptop beside a monitor, use both. The goal is the same either way: the top of the screen near eye height. Pair a raised laptop with a separate keyboard and mouse, as the Nulaxy listing advises.

Is a leather desk mat worth it?+

It is a cheap upgrade that does three things: it protects the desk from scratches and drinks, gives the mouse a smooth surface and softens the edge under your wrists. The Gallaway mat is PU leather, not real leather, which keeps the price down.

What are good desk gifts for men?+

The Gallaway Leather Desk Mat comes in a gift-ready box, so it is the easiest present. The Belkin 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station is a premium gift for someone with an iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods. The COZOO Headphone Stand with Charger is a cheap, useful gift for a gamer.

What are the best office desk gadgets for men?+

For an office, pick quiet, tidy gadgets: the leather desk mat, the BONTEC monitor riser and the Belkin charging station. The headphone stand with outlets works well in a home office, but check workplace rules on plug-in power strips first.
